Families that work well
family; families ;
Family is the most important part of a child’s life. A loving, caring family can help create confident, resilient children, while an unhappy family can lead to a range of problems for children.
While there are many different forms of family and styles of parenting, unhelpful ways of doing things can form over time. We may not realise what is making things difficult in our family.
Parenting SA has developed a guide for parents called "Families that work well".
Parenting SA - is a partnership between the Department for Education and Child Development and the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (South Australia). The Parenting SA web site has many other parenting guides
Parenting SA has also developed a PEG called Parenting style
The Raising Children Network - is another very good source of information and resources on raising children
Also there are many other topics on this website about parenting and families, children's emotions and behaviour, and growth and development.
The information on this site should not be used as an alternative to professional care. If you have a particular problem, see a doctor, or ring the Parent Helpline on 1300 364 100 (local call cost from anywhere in South Australia).
This topic may use 'he' and 'she' in turn - please change to suit your child's sex.
