Active holidays

It's almost the end of the term, and soon it will be the holidays. What are you going to do with yours?

  • Hang out with friends?
  • Go away with mum or dad?
  • Visit rellies somewhere?
  • Go to OHSC at your school or another school because mum or dad have to work?
  • Play computer games, read, relax and stay in bed each morning?

There are so many different things you can do over the holidays – it's a great time to relax, have fun and practise skills you want to improve.

If you do the same thing every day, even if it is pretty exciting, there comes a time when you've had enough. Try to fit lots of different things into your day and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.

Make a plan to see friends, go on walks, play games, go to the movies, read, practise skills like throwing, kicking, catching, riding, running…. Then when it's time to go back to school, you'll feel as if you really have had a good break.

Sitting in front of TV or a game all day, especially if you are snacking all the time, gets boring and is not good for your body, which really likes exercise, fresh air and doing different things.

So, make the most of your holidays!
