Conflict: finding the positive side of conflict

 Conflict is something everyone faces at some point in their lives. It can happen in personal relationships (eg with family, friends, or partners), within the wider community (eg religious groups, political groups, countries) or it can be within yourself, for example a change in your beliefs or way of doing some things.

 However conflict doesn't always have to be negative. If you learn skills to deal with conflict there can be some really positive and satisfying outcomes like:

  • a sense of achievement
  • happiness
  • stronger relationships
  • you learn more about others and yourself.

 Not all conflict will be resolved, but most of it can be handled well if you use a positive, respectful approach.
