Do condoms have a 'use-by' date?
16 Apr 2012
Manufacturers of condoms place 'use-by' dates on their packaging for condoms, and usually provide a list of instruction for condom care. Some important things to remember about looking after condoms and using them properly are:
- Store them in a cool, dry place. Don't leave them in the car!
- Don't use them after the use-by date. The materials used in them can deteriorate if left too long.
- Don't use the same condom more than once.
- Don't use an oil-based lubricant with a condom, as the material in the condom can break down, causing the condom to rupture. Water-based lubricants are much more suitable with condoms.
